Job Purpose:

Identifying suitable clusters for energy plantation, work closely with the local communities, assist farmers in cultivating energy crops, facilitate linkages to market for energy products, create awareness on energy generation from agricultural waste and promote social development activities in and around designated locations. This role combines environmental sustainability, agricultural support, and community engagement to make a positive impact on both farmers and the environment.

Roles & Responsibility Outcomes (KPIs)
1. Finalizing clusters for energy plantation

1. Assessing potential for energy plantation – majorly Napier grass but also high biomass sorghum, halophytes, and assessing quantum of agri-residue

2. Rapport building and Farmer outreach:

1. Create awareness about effective sustainable management of agricultural waste (paddy straw, sugarcane residue, etc.) and energy plantation.
2. Provide information and training on energy crop cultivation, best practices, and benefits.
3. Assist farmers in selecting suitable energy crops for their land and guiding them through the planting process.

3. Demonstration plots

1. Identify suitable area for preparing demo-plot for energy plantation
2. Work with partners/ NGOs/ governmental agencies to build demo-plots

4. On-going mobilization

1. Assist farmers and guiding them through the planting process.
2. Support in managing agri-residue

5. Facilitating input linkages

1. Support farmers in securing inputs like seed, water, fertilizer and provide information on best practices

6. Facilitate linkages with market

7. Social Development Activities:

1. Organize community development initiatives such as education, healthcare, and other improvement projects based on location specific needs.
2. Foster positive relationships with local stakeholders, including community leaders, NGOs, and government agencies.
3. Promote sustainable practices, environmental conservation, and renewable energy awareness within the community.

8. Data Collection and Reporting:

1. Gather data on energy plantation progress, crop yields, and community development impacts.
2. Prepare regular reports and updates to share with the management team.
3. Collaborate with colleagues to assess the effectiveness of energy plantation and social development programs.

9. Any other dynamic activities and responsibilities.

10. Travel to other field locations and HO

Experience & Educational Requirements:   

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Include Additional Certification Required if any

· Master’s degree in Agriculture or Agri-business management and 3 years’ experience – desirable OR · Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agri-business, or BBM with 5 years’ experience · Experience in working on commercial agriculture, plantations – especially in a commercial/business set up · Experience in reputed organization- · Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with farmers and community members. · Ability to work independently in remote or rural locations · Willingness to travel frequently within the designated area, site, and head offices

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

· Knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices and renewable energy solutions · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail · Proficiency in data collection and reporting
