Background:

The Timbaktu Collective (Collective) is a grassroots non-profit organization initiated in 1990, that works towards the sustainable development of marginalized peoples across 347 villages in 14 mandals of the drought prone Ananthapuramu and Sri Sathya Sai districts of Andhra Pradesh. The Collective develops and implements diverse thematic programmes and initiatives with a central focus on community participation and ownership.

The Collective has recently initiated a project focused on the conservation, sustainable and equitable use of water in drought-affected regions, to foster climate-resilient farming, sustainable livelihoods, food security, and better health for marginalized communities. We are seeking a competent and experienced MIS and Data Entry Associate to support this project.

About the Project:

The project will help more than 6,000 children (aged 8-14) and youth (aged 15-25) from Sri Sathya Sai
District, through a comprehensive and inclusive approach, focusing on their development and active
participation.

Emphasizing child rights, especially their right to participate and develop, the project will build skills
and awareness for these children and youth. The project also serves as a pilot initiative providing
additional academic support to children and youth in critical need, aiming to improve their academic
performance.

Key Deliverables and Outputs as MIS and Data Entry Associate:

• Develop and manage a Management Information System (MIS) to monitor and track project progress.
• Perform data entry and data cleaning for surveys, studies, participant records and any other relevant data that is collected as part of the project.
• Design reports and tools to provide insights into project performance and effectiveness and conduct
data analysis.
• Oversee data collection, analysis, and management to meet documentation and reporting requirements for the organization and donors.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Planning, monitoring and reporting on project activities aligning with the project objectives.
• Engaging with the donors, monitoring donor communication and ensuring timely donor
reporting.
• Documenting programme outcomes and impact; including preparing periodic reports.
• Engaging with the beneficiaries of the Chiguru programme by visiting and documenting field
activities, meetings, and other pertinent gatherings.
• Coordinating with the project team and engaging in monthly meetings for reviewing, planning,
and ensuring the effective implementation of activities.
• Conducting field visits to monitor programme activities.
• Planning and monitoring programme budget.
• Developing the child rights concept across the Chiguru Working Group and facilitating trainings
and capacity building of project team.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Minimum 2 years of prior experience in similar roles.
  • Excellent working skills on Advance Excel, Google Forms & Sheets and MS Office.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with analytical tools to create reports.
  • Experience in collecting, collating and analyzing data and generating reports.
  • Bachelor’s/ master’s degree in any relevant field.
