Job Purpose:

RF-BIJ is a program being implemented by Reliance Foundation under its Rural Transformation initiative across 24 districts in India. RF-BIJ will comprise of three key interventions centered on – (i) Climate Resilience (CR4SD), (ii) Integrated Value Chains (IVCD) and (iii) Diversifying rural incomes & Women Entrepreneurship via agri-allied and non-farm sectors (DRIWE).
This role will contribute to the Diversifying rural incomes & Women Entrepreneurship via agri-allied and non-farm sectors (DRIWE) Intervention for RF BIJ. The position will provide strategic direction and necessary technical support to the implementation teams on the ground on issues related to diversifying rural livelihoods through agriculture allied and non-farm sectors. Additionally, this position will also nurture partnerships and collaborations by positioning RF effectively with various organizations for leveraging human and financial resources, bringing in synergy and visibility of the organization.

  • Planning Support. Help the intervention lead develop strategic approach and short term and long term plans for promotion of agriculture allied and non-farm livelihoods for rural communities and create necessary skills, capabilities and community assets.
  • Demonstrate various approaches of livelihood promotion. Build the capabilities of the program team on various livelihood promotion approaches such as subsector based, cluster development and sectoral approaches and help district teams to demonstrate suitable approaches based on local context
  • Capacity Building. Design capacity building approaches and lead development of appropriate training modules on agriculture allied and non-farm livelihoods such as dairy, poultry, goatery and rural enterprises for farmers, women, youth and collectives of the people.
  • Technical Support. Provide/Facilitate technical support to implementation teams at state and district levels (including operational partners) on areas relevant to the
  • Innovations. Facilitate demonstrations and encourage use of technology and other innovations in agriculture allied and non-farm livelihoods and enterprises, digital tools and others that are relevant.
  • Partnerships. Build strategic partnerships with leading universities, ICAR Institutions, National & International NGOs and Aid agencies; acting in a convener
  • Thought Leadership. Contribute to thought leadership and analysis on key sub-themes such as (but not limited to) entrepreneurship, agriculture, agri-allied, livelihoods, vocational skilling and employability and job placements, . – for showcasing internally within the RIL family as well as external stakeholders
  • Result Orientation. Accountable for delivering the planned outcomes and outputs as per plan and strategic direction for the intervention
  • Partnerships. Identify the potential partnerships within RIL eco-system and external stakeholders to further the work of RF in the region and forge working collaboration, promote networks.Systems & Processes. Develop the SoPs (with need based revisions on an annual basis) to enable the field teams with the pre-requisites for implementing the program

Experience & Educational Requirements:

 

 

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Include Additional Certification Required if any

Necessary:

· Postgraduate in Agriculture/ Veterinary/ Economics/Development Sciences/ Management or other relevant study stream

Desirable

· Additional relevant certifications from reputed institutions in India or abroad are desirable

 

 

 

 

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Necessary

· At least 15 years of relevant sectoral experience in promoting agriculture allied and non-farm livelihoods

· Demonstrated experience of working on major agri- allied, non-farm subsector in livelihood promotion or with rural enterprise development.

· Experience of working with multiple stakeholders and in a multi-cultural environment.

· Strong communication skills (spoken and written) in English and at least one vernacular language.

· Communication skills in Hindi are desirable
