Job Purpose:
Reliance Foundation is committed to promoting augmentation and diversification of rural livelihoods. As part of the Livelihood initiative, Bio Energy Plantations, especially super napier grass will be promoted. Super napier is more resilient to pests and climate vagaries and gives multiple cuts in one plantation.
The program’s objective will be to promote the cultivation of super napier grass in pre- selected locations. The program will also have to work towards building market linkages for the produce. It is envisaged that the program takes on a self sustaining and enterprise model either through a village level entrepreneur or a FPO.
The minimum scale that the program will work on is 23 locations across the country covering 20,000 framers and a yield of 12 lakh tons of napier. Once success is demonstrated, the program will be scaled up to 100 locations. The project lead is expected to lead this project. In specific, she will have to ensure that the program is rapidly initiated and sustained at 23 locations- business models created with a in built sustainability/exit clause.

· Execute: This is a an extremely result oriented program where the lead is expected to design and roll out the plan. The main challenge will be to ensure high speed execution at multiple locations in the country.
· Lead: Hence the incumbent has to have the ability to plan, mentor the team, closely monitor and ensure execution through a spread out team · Planning. Develop strategic approach and short term and long term plans for ensuring results · Buisness Model: The program has to have an inbuilt sustainable, self paying mechanism. The incumbent should have the experience and ability to create and execute such a model · Innovations. Facilitate demonstrations and encourage use of technology and other innovations that are relevant. · Partnerships. Build strategic partnerships which will help deliver the program objectives · Monitoring. Regularly monitor the program and track of all key output and outcome indicators; take corrective action where required · Thought Leadership. Provide thought leadership and analysis on key sub-themes for showcasing internally within the RIL family as well as external stakeholders |
· Result Orientation. Accountable for delivering the planned outcomes and outputs as per plan and strategic direction
· Partnerships. Identify the potential partnerships within RIL eco-system and external stakeholders to further the work of RF in the region and forge working collaboration, promote networks. · Systems & Processes. Develop the SoPs (with need based revisions on an annual basis) to enable the field teams with the pre-requisites for implementing the program · MIS and Reporting. Establish robust systems for MIS and documenting and reporting on time and deployment of technological solutions · Direction setting. Set the strategic direction to the implementation teams, nurturing, handholding support and coordination with program level · Program level contribution. Contribution at national program level in planning, compliances, development of collaterals, communication, visibility and program development · Capacity building of teams. Organizing learning events, nominating team members for training, Competency building of teams |
Experience & Educational Requirements:
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

· Master’s degree in Agri-business management, MBA, Rural management or equivalent- 7- 10 years’ experience –
· OR · Bachelor’s degree in agri-business, or BBM with 12 – 15years’ relevant experience · Experience in supply chain, commodity business, agri business or other value chains, especially from farmers to factor is essential · Direct experience of working with farmers will be preferred · Experience in reputed organization · Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with team and community members. · experience in Program Management, Community Development, , Budgeting and Relationship Management · Ability to lead, guide and influence people · Willingness to travel frequently within the designated area, site, and head offices · Team Player and Team Leadership Aptitude |
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: |
· Strong knowledge of creating farm enterprises, setting up supply chains,sustainable agriculture practices and renewable energy solutions
· Excellent organizational skills and ability to lead a team · Proficiency in data collection and reporting · Systems thinking with results orientation · Strong cross-group teamwork skills and ability to work across multiple stakeholders internal and external · Ability to work autonomously and independently |
