Position: Information Technology Manager

A Navision functional consultant cum IT manager is a professional who possesses expertise in the Navision ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system and handles IT management responsibilities within an organization. This role combines the functional knowledge of Navision with managerial skills related to IT infrastructure and systems.

Experience & Industry Exposure

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent education
• Three or more years of progressive IT experience
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft NAV ERP\BC-365
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills
• Ability to explain complex systems in simple terms
• Ability to work with deadlines
• Take initiative in development and completion of projects
• Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and evaluative skills

The primary job responsibilities of a Navision functional consultant cum IT manager may include:

1. Navision Functional Consulting: Providing functional expertise and guidance in implementing, configuring, and customizing the Navision ERP system according to the organization’s requirements. This involves understanding business processes, analyzing system capabilities, and providing solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
2. System Configuration: Configuring and customizing the Navision system to meet specific business needs. This includes defining master data structures, creating workflows, setting up user roles and permissions, and managing system settings.
3. Business Process Analysis: Collaborating with various departments within the organization to analyze and optimize business processes. Identifying areas for improvement, suggesting process re-engineering, and implementing changes in the Navision system to streamline operations.
4. User Training and Support: Conducting training sessions to educate users on how to effectively utilize the Navision system. Providing ongoing support and addressing user queries or issues related to the system’s functionality.
5. Data Management: Ensuring data integrity and accuracy within the Navision system. Overseeing data migration processes, monitoring data quality, and implementing data governance strategies.
6. IT Infrastructure Management: Managing the organization’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems. Overseeing system upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth operations.
7. IT Strategy and Planning: Collaborating with senior management to develop IT strategies aligned with business objectives. Identifying IT requirements, evaluating technology solutions, and making recommendations for system enhancements or integrations.
8. Vendor Management: Interacting with external vendors and suppliers to evaluate and select appropriate IT solutions. Managing vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
9. Security and Compliance: Implementing security measures to protect the Navision system and sensitive data from unauthorized access or breaches. Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.
10. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining documentation of system configurations, processes, and user manuals. Generating reports on system performance, issues, and enhancements for management review. Overall, a Navision functional consultant cum IT manager plays a crucial role in aligning the Navision ERP system with the organization’s business requirements, while also overseeing the IT infrastructure and managing technology-related aspects of the company.
