About WaterAid India:
Jal Seva Charitable Foundation (JSCF) is registered in India as a not-for-profit company under Chapter 8 of the Companies Act, 2013. JSCF, is an associate member of WaterAid International and uses the brand name ‘WaterAid’ in India.

JSCF or WaterAid India (WAI) seeks to improve access to clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene for everyone, everywhere. Our work is focused on the following themes:

• Safe, assured drinking water at a household level.
• Safely managed sanitation.
• Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in Institutions (Anganwadis, Schools and Health Care Facilities).
• Hygiene education and Behaviour Change.

WAI country office is based in New Delhi with State Offices in Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Raipur and Patna. We currently work in 11+ states across the country. Role & Responsibility:

Responsible to implement and follow up all community mobilization activities as per project plan
Coordinate and conduct PRA exercise in all the select intervention areas
• To coordinate all training/orientation programs under the project
• Plan and implement campaigns, regular hygiene education sessions and awareness on WASH in the target community
• Conduct capacity building trainings to relevant stakeholder as per module developed
• Periodically Collect data, analyse and submit reports
• Maintain and submit periodic activity report and regular review to track progress
• Strengthen mandated institutions and operations and management of WASH infrastructure
• Conduct community level meetings
• Mobilize contribution for infrastructure work
• Monitor the infrastructure works during construction and report if any gaps observed
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the District Coordinator
• Other duties as required in line with skills, experience and role

Eligibilities and requirements

Education

• Graduation or Diploma in social science from any reputed institution

Experience

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in similar organisational/ functional context and experience of working on WASH in rural communities

Knowledge, skills, ability

• Community motivation and training techniques
• Communication and Documentation Skills, computer operating skills

Other specifications

• Experience in coordinating/ working with diverse stakeholders
• Sound understanding of local issues pertaining to WASH in communities
• Exceptional communications and presentation skills, both written and oral in Kannada
• Proactive and self-motivated individual capable of engaging persuasively with various stakeholders
• A self-starter, able to work independently
• Ability to travel extensively in the field
• Prioritise, set and meet deadlines
