Samarthan has been working in M.P and Chhattisgarh over the last 15 years. We have a strong field presence in number of districts to demonstrate examples of participatory development and governance. In the strategic planning exercise, a separate legal identity ‘Samarth in Particpatory Action  (SIPA) has been set up to expand the field action of Samarthan independently.  Samarth in Particpatory Action is 3 years old orgnaisaiton. SIPA emerged from field actions in Sehore District where there are several projects of Water and Sanitation, health and governance.

We are looking for a young dynamic CEO for the organisation having experience of working in field action programme at the middle or senior level. If you have commitment for people centered action on the ground for impact and have social entrepreneurship elements, we are looking for you. The expecting roles will be

Position : CEO

Location: Sehore, Madhya Pradesh

1. Resource mobilization for the organization by preparing proposals and representing with potential donors
2. Strategic thinking and planning to attain the mission and set objectives of the organization/programmes
3. Build relationship with government officials at the state and district level for highlighting the issues, evidence based advocacy and practice change
4. Recruitment of the staff and supervision of the team for the assigned tasks and human resource development
5. Direct project contribution using skills of community organization, capacity building, documentation, research and advocacy
6. Regular support and monitoring of the accounts/ administration meeting the highest standards of accountability, regular legal compliances and reporting
7. Organise regular Board meetings and active participation of the board members in policy decisions

Key Qualifications:

Masters/Professional degree in social sciences or development management  from reputed institutions/ Universities will be preferred.

Experience:

Proven track record of  working at the middle management or top management for  an organisation for at least 5  years

Specialization:

The candidate should have expertise in one of these areas:

• Local self governance (Rural)
• Research or Capacity development
• Social inclusion and rights based approach
• Work experience either in WASH, MGNREGS or Health
• Use of any Accountability or transparency tools like RTI, community monitoring, participatory planning, Public Expenditure Tracking

Good command over English (spoken and written) is essential.

Compensation:

Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
