About Organisation

VIRD is a non-political, non profit and secular organization working on community development with a holistic approach. It operates in the most marginalized communities in two districts of Orissa, Angul and Deogarh; who, because of their caste, religion, culture, gender or economic status, have been excluded from the social, political, economic and cultural mainstream; in partnership with people and institutions. Disempowered, they are highly vulnerable to extreme poverty, inequality and to oppression. VIRD’s vision – to assist the people in organizing themselves in a new social order – has spread and is shared by about 2, 50,000 people who are now actively involved with it’s activities and its programmes/ initiatives and its networking partners.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Looking after the project activities, outputs and outcomes in the villages allocated under the projects
• Carry out farmer awareness, training and support at the ground
• Help team in the execution of the projects related agriculture and livelihoods
• Work with women farmers that are formed into SHGs, Producer Groups (GPs) or FPOs
• Maintain all field data, records and files and submit various reports as required.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Diploma/Graduation/ Post Graduation in social work/Agriculture / Tribal Development/Rural Development/ Public Policy/ MBA or any other relevant degree etc.

Experience:

• Should have at least 2 years of work experience in rural development, agriculture, triable development etc.

Other Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication and Presentation Skills
• Should be able to read/ write in Odia and English.
• Should have good proficiency in operating MS Word/ MS Excel/ MS/PPT/ Email/ Google Applications/ Mobile Data Collection Apps
