Position: Retention Officer – Skill Development Center

Location: Jaitaran

Job Type: Full-time

Reports to: Principal

Salary: 30K to max 35K.

Job Summary:

As a Retention Officer for our Skill Development Center, you will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with working alumni, identifying non-working trainees, and providing counseling and support to facilitate their re-entry into the job market. The role requires a dynamic individual with excellent communication skills, convincing power, and the ability to travel in the field. The Retention Officer will also actively seek new job opportunities for trainees and leverage their network to enhance the overall placement rate.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Alumni Engagement:
    1. Establish and maintain relationships with alumni currently employed.
    2. Conduct regular follow-ups to gather feedback on their career progression.
    3. Identify and address concerns to ensure long-term satisfaction.
  2. Trainee Retention:
    1. Identify non-working trainees through systematic tracking and follow-up processes.
    2. Provide counseling and career guidance to trainees seeking re-employment.
    3. Implement strategies to boost trainee retention rates.
  3. Job Placement:
    1. Actively explore job opportunities for trainees in collaboration with industry partners.
    2. Negotiate and secure job placements for trainees based on their skills and career goals.
    3. Facilitate the job offer process and assist in smooth on boarding.
  4. Networking:
    1. Develop and maintain a strong network with potential employers, industry professionals, and other stakeholders.
    2. Attend industry events, career fairs, and networking functions to stay updated on market trends and opportunities.
  5. Opportunity Identification:
    1. Research and identify new job opportunities and industries suitable for trainees.
    2. Collaborate with the training team to align programs with current market demands.
  6. Computer Proficiency:
    1. Utilize various databases, CRM systems, and other tools to track alumni and job placement data.
    2. Generate reports and analytics to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  7. Communication and Convincing Skills:
    1. Maintain clear and effective communication with trainees, alumni, and potential employers.
    2. Use strong convincing skills to motivate non-working trainees and facilitate their job placement.
  8. Field Travel:
    1. Travel to various locations for on-site visits, employer meetings, and networking events.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education: Postgraduate or graduate from any stream.

Experience:

  • 2-4 Years Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a skill development or education setting.
  • Demonstrated success in job placement and retention efforts.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong convincing and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications and database management.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
